Junior Team Golf - Event 2, 2006
February 19, 1:00PM  at The Republic

The next CTJGA Junior Team Golf Event is at The Republic Golf Club on Sunday February 19, a 1:00 shotgun start.  Entry fee will be $30 per player. CTJGA Junior Team is designed to gather groups of junior golfers together to compete in a team format much like they will experience in high school and college.

CTJGA Junior Team Golf is designed around the teachers of the game and facilities at which they work.  The idea is to gather a team of your junior clients whether they are students, members, or just customers at your course and send them as a team to compete.

The idea is to foster a sense of community and togetherness among our junior golfers.  Also this might help prepare them for the next level.  Finally it is a supplement to the other events in which they play.

For the record; David Ogrin at The Bandit with the Bandit Raccoons, Brian McMyler at Canyon Springs, and Tim Harford of Garden Ridge Golf Center have all embraced the concept and are sending multiple teams to each event.  The CTJGA hopes that you too will embrace the idea of gathering your junior golfers and engage them in what is basically club golf.

There is no cost to join the CTJGA.  Each event is a stand alone event with entry fees ranging from $25-$50 an event depending on the course and time of year we are playing.  The events are 18-hole stroke play.  There is an 8 shot limit per hole to help move play along.  Practice rounds are not included.  Range balls are included at the discretion of the facility.  Spectator carts are available for a fee in the golf shop.  The kids are expected to walk, but we use “common sense” in shuttling kids around the golf course.  Laser range finders and GPS devices are permitted.

For information please contact David Ogrin at the CTJGA at 210-872-7109.  You can always email David at davidogrin@foresightgolf.net

In addition to the CTJGA Team Golf, the CTJGA will host 10 adult-junior type events.  The first of these is Sunday March 5, 2006 at Woodlake G. C.  It is the 2006 CTJGA Father / Son event.  The Mother / Daughter is on the books for Sunday May 14 at The Republic.  Please stay tuned to www.texasjuniorgolfer.com for the complete junior schedule.

All the best and we look forward to hearing from you.
